Rebrov commented on a draw with Georgia – Low quality of the game, furious support of the opponent and the harm from a quick goal
Outplayed
The head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhii Rebrov, commented on the result of the friendly match with Georgia (2:2), which took place yesterday, June 12, in Tbilisi.
“The first goal conceded is due to the lack of concentration. We talked about it before the game, but it happened,” Rebrov said at a press conference.
Missed chances
According to the coach, the missed chances did not allow Ukraine to win the match. “We controlled the game, but we didn’t create many scoring chances. We could have scored more, but the Georgian goalkeeper played well,” added Rebrov.
Support for the opponent
The coach also noted the support of the Georgian fans. “The atmosphere was great. The stadium was full, the fans were very supportive. It was difficult to play in such an atmosphere,” said Rebrov.
Draw as a result
In general, Rebrov assessed the game as unsatisfactory.
“We didn’t play well enough. We made a lot of mistakes, and we didn’t create many scoring chances. The draw is a fair result,” said the coach.
Upcoming games
The Ukrainian national team will play two more friendly matches in June. On June 17, Ukraine will face Malta, and on June 20, they will play Estonia.
