Oregon Ducks Recruiting: Targeting Flips from Baylor, Michigan, Ohio State Commits
Oregon Ducks football program has been very active in the transfer portal, and they are now turning their attention to flipping commits from other schools.
The Ducks have already landed a few big-time transfers, including quarterback Bo Nix from Auburn and running back Byron Cardwell from Oklahoma. And they are now targeting several players who are currently committed to other schools.
One of the players that Oregon is targeting is wide receiver CJ Hicks from Baylor. Hicks is a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver in the 2023 class. He is also the son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Hicks.
Another player that Oregon is targeting is defensive lineman David Bailey from Michigan. Bailey is a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 11 defensive lineman in the 2023 class. He is also a member of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Oregon is also targeting offensive tackle Josh Conerly from Ohio State. Conerly is a five-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 class. He is also a member of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
If Oregon is able to flip any of these players, it would be a major boost to their recruiting class. The Ducks are already ranked as the No. 10 recruiting class in the 2023 class, and adding any of these players would only help them improve their ranking.
Here are some of the reasons why Oregon is targeting these players:
- They are all highly talented players. Oregon is only interested in the best players, and these players are all among the best in the country.
- They would fill a need for Oregon. Oregon needs help at wide receiver, defensive line, and offensive tackle, and these players would all be able to contribute right away.
- They are all from the West Coast. Oregon is located in the Pac-12 Conference, and they want to recruit players who are familiar with the area. All of these players are from the West Coast, and they would be comfortable playing in Eugene.
It remains to be seen if Oregon will be able to flip any of these players, but they are certainly putting in the effort. If they are successful, it would be a major boost to their recruiting class and their chances of competing for a Pac-12 championship in 2023.
