Southern California makes in-person evaluation

Five-star quarterback commit Husan Longstreet of Texas A&M received an in-person evaluation on Tuesday from USC quarterbacks coach Josh Henson.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Longstreet is considered one of the top signal-callers in the country. He threw for 2,569 yards and 30 touchdowns with just seven interceptions while rushing for 905 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior at John Tyler High School in Texas.

Longstreet committed to Texas A&M in July 2022 over offers from LSU, Texas and Auburn. However, he has not signed a binding letter of intent and is still considering his options.

Henson's presence could be a sign that USC is making a late push for Longstreet.

The Trojans have already signed two quarterbacks in the 2023 class, including four-star Malachi Nelson and three-star Devin Brown. But Henson's presence at Longstreet's game could be a sign that USC is still looking to add another quarterback to the fold.

Longstreet is set to graduate in December and enroll in college in January. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.
