UEFA Nations League
Netherlands 2 Hungary 0
64 minutes played. In progress
The Netherlands took an early lead in their UEFA Nations League match against Hungary on Tuesday, with goals from Steven Bergwijn and Memphis Depay giving them a 2-0 advantage after just 18 minutes.
The home side dominated the opening exchanges and took the lead after just six minutes when Bergwijn fired home from close range after a cross from Denzel Dumfries. Depay doubled the lead 12 minutes later with a clinical finish from inside the area following a pass from Frenkie de Jong.
Hungary improved after the break and had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past the Netherlands defense. The Dutch held on to secure a comfortable victory, which moves them top of Group A4, level on points with Belgium but with a superior goal difference.
The Netherlands will now face Wales in their next match on Saturday, while Hungary will take on Belgium.
