Staff Roundtable: Path to the SEC Championship and keys to victory against Arkansas
A Victory Over Arkansas Could Help Put LSU Back in the SEC Title Race
LSU needs a win over Arkansas to stay in the SEC West race. The Tigers are currently 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the SEC, while Arkansas is 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC. A win over Arkansas would put LSU at 4-1 in the SEC, which would give them a one-game lead over Arkansas and a two-game lead over Ole Miss in the SEC West standings. There are several keys to victory for LSU against Arkansas. First, the Tigers need to be able to run the ball effectively. LSU has one of the best running backs in the country in Leonard Fournette, but he has been slowed down by injuries this season. If Fournette can get going against Arkansas, it will open up the passing game for quarterback Danny Etling. Second, LSU needs to be able to get pressure on Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen. Allen is a talented passer, but he is also turnover-prone. If LSU can get pressure on Allen and force him into making mistakes, it will give the Tigers a chance to win the game. Third, LSU needs to be able to win the turnover battle. LSU has been one of the most turnover-prone teams in the country this season, but they have been able to overcome it with their strong defense. If LSU can win the turnover battle against Arkansas, it will give them a major advantage in the game.LSU has a lot of experience in big games, and they will need to use that experience to their advantage against Arkansas. The Tigers have played in the SEC Championship Game each of the past two seasons, and they know what it takes to win a championship.
