Fowler adds 14 for Jayhawks, who open with 86-58 home win
Gradey Dick, the nation's third-ranked freshman, was able to make his college debut in Saturday’s game and have an impact on a victory. Dick finished with 12 points, shooting 40% from the field.
Dick scored 12 points making five of his twelve attempts from the field. Jalen Wilson led the Jayhawks with 14 points. Kevin McCullar and KJ Adams Jr. followed right behind with 11 points each. Oakland was led by Blake Lampman with 14 points, and Jalen Moore added 11.
KU shoots 53% from the field; 34% from 3-point range
As a whole, the Jayhawks shot 53.1% from the field, but were just 34.4% from three-point range. The Jayhawks outrebounded Oakland 45-25. They also forced 14 turnovers, which Kansas converted into 22 points.
Fouls and free-throw race
Kansas took the free-throw line 28 times Saturday afternoon. Oakland committed 21 total fouls. The Jayhawks hit 23 of their free throws, making 82.1% of their attempts.
The Golden Grizzlies were only 6-15 from the free-throw line, making just 40% of their attempts.
Kansas hits its stride in the second half
The Jayhawks led 37-28 at halftime, but they pulled away quickly in the second period. Kansas opened the half with an 8-0 run and then went on a 10-3 run a few minutes later. The Jayhawks led by as much as 27 points late in the game.

The Jayhawks will be back in action on Monday, November 14th, when they host North Dakota State at Allen Fieldhouse. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN+
