Ronnie Stanley returns to Baltimore Ravens active roster after one year on injured reserve
Ravens' offensive tackle passes physical, expected to start Sunday against Bengals
Stanley has not played in a regular season game since Week 1 of the 2021 season
Ronnie Stanley is back. The Baltimore Ravens activated the left tackle from the physically unable to perform list Saturday, and he is expected to start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, coach John Harbaugh said.
Stanley has not played in a regular season game since Week 1 of the 2021 season, when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. He underwent multiple surgeries on the ankle and spent the entire 2022 season on injured reserve.
Stanley passed his physical Saturday and was cleared to practice. He participated in individual drills during the open portion of practice and did not appear to be limited.
The Ravens have been without Stanley for the first three games of the season, and his return is a major boost to the offense. Stanley is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and one of the best left tackles in the NFL when healthy.
With Stanley back in the lineup, the Ravens will have their starting offensive line intact for the first time this season. That should help improve the running game and protect quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens are 2-1 this season and are coming off a 37-26 win over the New England Patriots. They will face a tough test Sunday against the Bengals, who are also 2-1.
