Ronnie Stanley, Baltimore Ravens Tackle, Suffers Season-Ending Injury
Ravens Offensive Line Dwindles
Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley suffered a season-ending ankle injury during a practice on Tuesday, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Stanley was carted off the field after attempting to block a defender during a team drill.
The injury is a major blow to the Ravens, who are already without starting right tackle Morgan Moses, who is on injured reserve with a toe injury.
Stanley's Injury History
Stanley has been hampered by injuries throughout his career.
He missed the entire 2021 season with an ankle injury.
He also missed significant time in 2019 and 2020 with various injuries.
Ravens' Options at Tackle
With Stanley and Moses out, the Ravens are thin at the tackle position.
Patrick Mekari is expected to start at left tackle, while Tyre Phillips is likely to start at right tackle.
The Ravens could also sign a free agent tackle or trade for one before the start of the season.
Ravens' Outlook
The Ravens' offensive line is now one of the weakest in the NFL.
This could make it difficult for the Ravens to protect quarterback Lamar Jackson and open up running lanes for running back J.K. Dobbins.
The Ravens are now considered long shots to win the Super Bowl.
