Oregon Ducks potentially suffer huge loss on final defensive play of Big Ten win over Wisconsin
Oregon’s season has been marred by injuries, and they may have suffered another big one on Saturday.
On the final play of the Ducks’ 24-17 win over Wisconsin, linebacker Justin Flowe went down with an apparent leg injury.
Flowe was helped off the field and did not return to the game.
After the game, Oregon coach Dan Lanning said that Flowe’s injury is “significant”.
If Flowe is out for an extended period of time, it would be a major blow to the Ducks’ defense.
Flowe is one of Oregon’s most talented and versatile defenders.
He has played all over the field this season, including linebacker, safety, and even cornerback.
Flowe’s absence would leave a big hole in the Ducks’ defense, which has already been hit hard by injuries this season.
The Ducks are already without starting cornerback Jahlil Florence, who suffered a season-ending injury in the season opener.
They also lost starting safety Jamal Hill to a season-ending injury in the third game of the season.
If Flowe is out for an extended period of time, the Ducks will be forced to rely on some inexperienced players in their defense.
The Ducks have a bye next week, which will give Flowe some time to recover.
However, if he is unable to return to the field soon, it could be a major setback for the Ducks’ defense.
The Ducks are currently 4-1 on the season and ranked No. 12 in the AP Top 25 poll.
They are scheduled to return to action on October 8th against Stanford.
