Oregon Ducks' Dan Lanning Addresses Jordan Burch Injury After Beating Maryland
Dan Lanning Discusses Jordan Burch's Injury Status
Oregon Ducks Head Coach Dan Lanning provided an update on the injury status of defensive end Jordan Burch following the team's 31-27 victory over Maryland on Saturday.
Burch, a 6-foot-6, 275-pound redshirt sophomore, suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of the game and did not return.
Lanning said that Burch is day-to-day and his status for next week's game against Stanford is uncertain.
"Jordan is a tough kid and he's doing everything he can to get back on the field as soon as possible," Lanning said. "We'll see how he does this week and make a decision about his status for next week's game."
Burch has been a key contributor for the Ducks this season, starting all four games and recording 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
If Burch is unable to play against Stanford, the Ducks will likely turn to redshirt freshman Bradyn Swinson or true freshman Kyrei Fisher to start in his place.
Swinson has played in all four games this season and has recorded four tackles, while Fisher has yet to make his collegiate debut.
