France beat Finland to reach Nations League finals
France secured their place in the Nations League finals with a 2-0 win over Finland on Saturday. Goals from Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe earned the world champions victory in Helsinki.
France dominated the game from start to finish and created a number of chances to score. Giroud opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a header from a cross by Lucas Hernandez.
Mbappe doubled the lead in the 76th minute with a fine solo goal. He picked up the ball on the left wing and drove into the Finland penalty area before firing into the bottom corner.
Italy held by Bosnia and Herzegovina
Italy were held to a 1-1 draw by Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Nations League match in Sarajevo on Saturday.
Italy took the lead in the 23rd minute through a goal from Jorginho. However, Bosnia and Herzegovina equalised in the 67th minute through a goal from Edin Dzeko.
The result means that Italy will need to beat the Netherlands in their final Nations League game in order to reach the finals.
Netherlands beat Poland
The Netherlands kept their hopes of reaching the Nations League finals alive with a 2-0 win over Poland in Warsaw on Saturday.
Goals from Steven Bergwijn and Memphis Depay gave the Dutch a comfortable victory.
The result means that the Netherlands will need to avoid defeat against Italy in their final Nations League game in order to reach the finals.
