Mamelodi Sundowns' George Lebese Admits Dumping Kaizer Chiefs Was Hard
Former Kaizer Chiefs winger George Lebese has admitted that leaving the club was a difficult decision, but he was convinced to join Mamelodi Sundowns by Pitso Mosimane
Lebese joined Sundowns in 2017 after spending seven years with Chiefs, and he has since won two league titles and the CAF Champions League with the Brazilians
“It was a difficult decision to leave Kaizer Chiefs because I had been there for so long, and I had a lot of good memories there,” Lebese told KickOff.
“But I felt that it was time for a new challenge, and I believe that I made the right decision by joining Mamelodi Sundowns,” said Lebese
Lebese revealed that Mosimane was a key factor in his decision to join Sundowns, and he praised the coach for his man-management skills.
“Pitso Mosimane is a great coach, and he has a lot of belief in his players,” Lebese said.
“He told me that I was going to get bonuses if I joined Sundowns, and that was a big factor in my decision to make the move."
Lebese has been a regular starter for Sundowns since joining the club, and he has played a key role in their recent success.
He was part of the team that won the league title in 2017/18 and 2019/20, and he also played a key role in Sundowns' CAF Champions League triumph in 2016.
Lebese is now one of the most experienced players in the Sundowns squad, and he is expected to play a key role in the club's quest for more success in the coming seasons.
