Lions minus LaPorta vs. Jaguars due to shoulder
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown won’t play in Saturday’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Detroit Lions will be without wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for Saturday’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a shoulder injury.
St. Brown, who led the Lions in receiving yards and touchdowns last season, suffered the injury during practice on Wednesday.
The injury is not considered to be serious, but the Lions are being cautious with their star receiver.
With St. Brown out, the Lions will likely give more playing time to some of their other wide receivers, such as Quintez Cephus, Josh Reynolds, and Kalif Raymond.
The Lions are hoping that St. Brown will be able to return for their regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 11th.
In other injury news, the Lions also announced that defensive end Romeo Okwara will miss Saturday’s game with a foot injury.
Okwara, who is entering his seventh season with the Lions, is expected to start at defensive end this season.
The Lions are hoping that Okwara will be able to return for their regular season opener against the Eagles.
The Lions will also be without several other players on Saturday due to injury, including:
- Quarterback Jared Goff (knee)
- Running back D’Andre Swift (ankle)
- Tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee)
- Defensive tackle Michael Brockers (ankle)
- Linebacker Alex Anzalone (shoulder)
The Lions are hoping that all of these players will be able to return for their regular season opener against the Eagles.
