Kansas Blows Out Oakland, Self Praises Team Effort

WATCH: Bill Self breaks down the win

Bill Self was pleased with his team's performance in Tuesday night's 78-57 victory over Oakland. The win was Kansas's fourth straight and improved their record to 10-1 on the season.

"I thought we played really well tonight," Self said. "We shared the ball well, we defended well, and we rebounded well. It was a good all-around effort."

Kansas was led by Dedric Lawson, who had 18 points. Udoka Azubuike added 16 points, and Lagerald Vick contributed 15 points.

"I thought Dedric was terrific tonight," Self said. "He was aggressive on the offensive end, and he played great defense. He's really coming into his own as a player."

Kansas's defense was stout against Oakland, holding the Golden Grizzlies to just 37.7 percent shooting from the field.

"Our defense was really good tonight," Self said. "We held them to a low shooting percentage, and we forced them into a lot of turnovers. I'm really proud of the way our guys played defense."

The Jayhawks also outrebounded Oakland 40-28.

"We've been emphasizing rebounding in practice," Self said. "We know it's important to be able to rebound the ball to win games, and I thought our guys did a good job of that tonight."

Kansas will be back in action on Saturday when they host New Mexico at Allen Fieldhouse.
