Jayson Tatum redeems himself with game-winning three in Celtics' overtime win over Raptors

Boston Celtics avoid a disappointing loss

Jayson Tatum made amends for his late-game blunder in regulation by hitting a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give the Boston Celtics a 110-107 overtime win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

Tatum, who had missed a potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation, was given another chance after OG Anunoby missed a free throw with 4.6 seconds remaining in overtime.

Tatum caught the inbounds pass from Marcus Smart and pulled up from well behind the 3-point line, sinking the shot as time expired.

Tatum's redemption shot

Tatum's game-winner was a fitting end to a back-and-forth game that saw the Celtics blow a 19-point lead in the second half.

The Celtics led by 10 points with less than three minutes remaining in regulation, but the Raptors rallied to tie the game and force overtime.

Tatum's heroics overshadowed a strong performance from Pascal Siakam, who led the Raptors with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

Celtics improve to 2-1

The win improved the Celtics' record to 2-1 on the season, while the Raptors fell to 1-2.

The Celtics will host the Orlando Magic on Friday night, while the Raptors will travel to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
