A Dubai-bound airplane was forced to make an emergency landing in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Thursday due to a technical issue. All passengers and crew members are reported safe following the unscheduled stop.
The plane, operated by Uzbekistan Airways, departed from Tashkent International Airport at 10:30 a.m. local time. Shortly after takeoff, the pilots detected a technical issue and made the decision to return to the airport. However, due to the nature of the technical issue, the pilots were unable to land safely in Tashkent and were forced to divert to an alternate airport.
The plane landed safely at Tashkent International Airport at 11:30 a.m. local time. Passengers were evacuated from the plane and taken to the airport terminal, where they were provided with assistance. Uzbekistan Airways has dispatched a technical team to investigate the cause of the issue.
The airline has apologized for the inconvenience caused to its passengers and has assured them that their safety is the top priority. Passengers will be rebooked on the next available flight to Dubai.
The cause of the technical issue is still under investigation. Uzbekistan Airways has not released any further details about the nature of the issue.
