College Football Playoff Rankings: Texas Rises to No. 3
Texas Jumps to No. 3
The College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday, November 22, and there was a big shake-up in the top three. Texas, which was ranked No. 5 in the previous rankings, jumped to No. 3, behind only Oregon and Ohio State.
The Longhorns' rise in the rankings comes after a big win over Baylor on Saturday. Texas dominated the Bears, winning 38-27. The win improved Texas' record to 9-2 on the season.
Ohio State, Oregon Remain Top 2
Ohio State and Oregon remained in the top two spots in the rankings. Ohio State is 11-0 on the season and has looked dominant all year long. Oregon is also 11-0 and has been impressive on both sides of the ball.
The Buckeyes and Ducks are both in control of their own destiny and will likely make the College Football Playoff if they win out.
Notre Dame Drops to No. 4
Notre Dame dropped to No. 4 in the rankings after losing to Stanford on Saturday. The Fighting Irish were ranked No. 2 in the previous rankings, but the loss to Stanford dropped them down two spots.
Notre Dame is now 10-1 on the season and will need to win out and hope for some help from other teams in order to make the College Football Playoff.
Alabama Rises to No. 5
Alabama rose to No. 5 in the rankings after beating Auburn on Saturday. The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 6 in the previous rankings, but the win over Auburn moved them up one spot.
Alabama is now 10-1 on the season and is in control of its own destiny in the SEC West. The Crimson Tide will likely make the College Football Playoff if they win out.
