West De Pere Ends Season With 32-20 Loss to Rice Lake
The West De Pere Phantoms football team’s season came to an end Friday night with a 32-20 loss to the Rice Lake Warriors in the second round of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs. The Phantoms finished the season with a 9-2 record.
Rice Lake Takes Early Lead
The Warriors took an early lead in the game, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive. Rice Lake added another touchdown in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Phantoms Rally in Second Half
The Phantoms came out strong in the second half, scoring two touchdowns to tie the game at 14-14. However, Rice Lake regained the lead in the fourth quarter with another touchdown.
Warriors Hold On for Win
The Phantoms had a chance to tie the game again late in the fourth quarter, but a pass was intercepted by Rice Lake. The Warriors then ran out the clock to secure the victory.
Phantoms End Season With Heads Held High
Despite the loss, the Phantoms can hold their heads high after a successful season. The team finished with a 9-2 record, and they won their first playoff game in over a decade.
