Browns LT Jedrick Wills Jr. Ruled Out for Saints Game with Knee Flare-Up; Mike Hall Jr. to IR
Wills Misses Second Straight Game; Hall Out for Season
The Cleveland Browns' offensive line has been hit with another injury, as left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with a flare-up of his knee injury. Wills missed last week's game against the Tennessee Titans with the same injury.
In addition to Wills' absence, the Browns placed defensive end Mike Hall Jr. on injured reserve, ending his season. Hall suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in last week's game against the Titans.
Hall's Injury a Major Blow to Browns' Defense
Hall's injury is a significant blow to the Browns' defense, as he was a key part of their pass rush. He had 2.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss in just four games this season.
The Browns will now likely turn to rookie Isaiah Thomas to replace Hall in the starting lineup. Thomas has played in all five games this season, recording one sack and two tackles for loss.
Wills' Injury a Concern for Browns' Offensive Line
Wills' injury is also a concern for the Browns' offensive line, which has struggled to protect quarterback Deshaun Watson this season. The Browns have allowed 15 sacks in five games, which is tied for the most in the NFL.
With Wills out, the Browns will likely start Chris Hubbard at left tackle. Hubbard has started 14 games at left tackle for the Browns in the past, but he has not played since Week 1 of this season.
Browns Face Tough Test Against Saints
The Browns will face a tough test against the Saints, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Saints are allowing just 16.8 points per game, which is tied for the third-fewest in the league.
The Browns will need to play their best game of the season if they want to beat the Saints and improve to 3-3 on the season.
