Boise State Safety Alexander Teubner Questionable
Bronco Safety Alexander Teubner injured in practice.
Teubner missed most of last season due to injury.
Boise State Football may be without the services of starting safety Alexander Teubner this weekend when the Broncos travel to San Jose to face the San Jose State Spartans.
Teubner missed the most of the 2022 season due to injury.
Head Coach Andy Avalos said that Teubner injured his leg during Monday's practice, and that his status against the Spartans is uncertain.
"We're still evaluating him," Avalos said. "We'll see how he progresses throughout the week."
If Teubner is unable to play, redshirt freshman Zeke Birchfield is expected to start in his place. Birchfield has played in all three of the Broncos' games this season, and has recorded three tackles.
But losing Teubner would be a big loss for the Broncos. He is one of the team's most experienced players, and he is a key member of the secondary.
The Broncos are coming off a 27-10 win over the Tarleton State Texans last Saturday. They travel to San Jose to face the Spartans this Saturday at 8:30 p.m. MT.
